The original sports oval in Moyhu was in the township, approximately behind the current Moyhu Bowls Club and in 1910, the club made some improvements to the oval, with the 'stumps grubbed, low places filled with sand and generally renovated'.
The Moyhu Recreation Reserve on the Glenrowan - Moyhu Road has been in existence since 1940, when the Oxley Shire Council secured a recreation reserve for the Moyhu community.
Over the years it has been the home of the football and clubs since 1940, netball club since 1956 and cycling club since 1940 too, when a dirt bicycle track was laid around the perimeter of the sports oval in 1940.
Moyhu Rangers Soccer Club used the reserve as their home ground venue.
The Recreation Reserve use to host an annual Sports Carnival from 1940 to the late 1960's, which used to put on cycling, foot running, woodchopping and equestrian events.
The reserve has hosted rodeo events, CFA events and numerous other community events.
