The Simon Hayes Shield is awarded to the winning senior football team between Moyhu and King Valley.
Simon Joseph Hayes had the fortune of playing for both clubs in his junior and senior footballing career.
Simon died at Moyhu on the 10th October, 2001, aged 35 years, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Simon was born on the 20th July 1966.
Both clubs acknowledge Simon and his family ties to the region and local football community. Simon's father, Greg was a former president of the Moyhu FNC.
